The bullish boss of Manchester internet service provider UKFast has dismissed concerns of a slowdown in the economy and revealed ambitious growth plans for the firm.

Lawrence Jones UKFast - shrugs off slowdownManaging Director Lawrence Jones says the company intends to double turnover during 2008 and up staff number to more than 100.

The company has grown rapidly in recent years. Since 2004 turnover has rocketed from £500,000 to £4.2m and UKFast has recently moved into new offices at the top of Manchester's City Tower as well as opening a data suite.

It currently employs around 50 people, but estimates to double this number by the end of the year.

Mr Jones, said: "While other industries face uncertain times, we're confident that the UK's businesses continue to need our internet services.

"We will deliver on our promises by hiring the most experienced qualified candidates using a three tier interview process and psychometric testing to ascertain compatibility with our young professional company ethos."

The company, which has won the ISPA's best hosting provider 2005, 2006 and 2007, last week learned of its nomination for an ISPA award again.

If UKFast wins for the fourth consecutive year it will smash both the company's own personal records and those of the ISPA.

"This year is going to be hard work," said Mr Jones. "But if we do it right it'll be great. So bring it on."
