![]() The Sharks official internet service provider UKFast has guaranteed the club's success both on and off the pitch, by taking the trophy for Best British Business ISP 2004 in the Future Publishing Awards. Over 30,000 UK web users and Sale Sharks supporters turned out to vote, helping UKFast to beat off fierce competition from key industry players such as Pipex and Plusnet. Sale Sharks and UKFast first joined forces five years ago and since then the team's official web site has gone from strength to strength, with the club now selling over 70 per cent of its tickets online and pulling in 100,000 visitors every week. Nathan Bombrys, marketing manager for Sale Sharks says: "UKFast has taken our online profile to whole new levels. Their continuing support to maintain Internet ticket sales and constantly develop innovative new online tools to generate income has helped us achieve phenomenal growth over the past three seasons. Their future is our future and we take great pleasure in sharing in their successes." Lawrence Jones, managing director of UKFast and a keen rugby player himself, is delighted: "UKFast offers a premium service at affordable prices and winning the Best Business ISP award reaffirms what we work so hard to achieve. It's a tremendous pat on the back from the Sale Shark fans and our customers." He adds: "To win the top category and displace last years winner, Pipex who are a well-established outfit, is a credit to the team here at UKFast. After all, what better way to celebrate UKFast's 5th Birthday, than with a convincing victory as leaders in our field!" UKFast has recently extended its sponsoring contract with the Sharks for another two years and continues to sponsor Charlie Hodgson as an individual player. | |
