Entrepreneurial web users have snapped up iPad-themed domain names which are now on sale for millions of dollars on websites such as Ebay.
Hundreds of iPad-related domain names are popping up for sale on online auction sites with prices in the USA ranging from $100 to over $20 million for the name appleipad.com.
The 31 year old who registered the domain name ipaddownload.com, which currently has the asking price of $1 million dollars, bought three iPad-themed domain names last year following media speculation that the newest gadget from Apple would go by this name.
Tyler stated in a recent interview, "This is probably the smartest thing I have ever done in my life."
Entrepreneurs are increasingly using domain name speculation as a means of making money. However, some domain name speculators have fallen foul of trademark laws which were put in place to prevent "name-jacking" from taking place.
In the UK prices are relatively low for these domain names, with the most expensive one currently featured on ebay selling for £10,000.
The Apple iPad is due to be released in the UK at the end of April.
