CIOs Drive App Development to Understand Customers


Vodafone's latest research has revealed that developing business applications has become a top priority for CIOs for 2010.

In the survey of 200 CIOs, 46 per cent of those question said they wanted to actively develop CRM applications.

Following application development, data collection was the second highest priority for the CIOs surveyed, with 45 per cent of them listing it as a top priority. Database management applications were close behind with 44 per cent.

Te survey also shows that 33 per cent of CIOs are evolving their e-commerce applications.

Vodafone's report also questioned 1,200 staff across 500 companies. 12 per cent of employees asked said they were frustrated that they were unable to use their own mobile devices for work purposes.

A lack of IT training (24 per cent) and the speed of access to data (31 per cent) were generally considered to be more particularly to employees.
