Google Updates Mobile Capabilities Of Enterprise Apps

Google has updated its Docs application to offer users the ability to edit documents on the go.

The company claimed that three million businesses now use its enterprise applications, amounting to some 30 million individual users.

Google recently added two-step authentication to its Apps suite, and has positioned itself in the direction of emerging platforms including the iPad.

In a blog post,Dave Girouard president for Google Enterprise explained, that the Docs package now includes mobile editing features for the Android and iOS operating systems.

"In the next few weeks, workers around the world will be able to co-edit files simultaneously from an even wider array of devices," he said.

This will enable increased collaboration, in despite of the worker's location and the hardware being used, according to Girouard.

Perhaps in a jibe at more established office applications, Girouard added that "only cloud computing is able to deliver the whole package of productivity enhancing collaboration, superior reliability and virtually unlimited scale at a price that's affordable for any size organisation".
