Hackers are stepping up thier efforts to target online bank users, a report revealed yesterday. There were about 33 million 'phishing' attacks, to con customers into giving away personal information, in the last six months of 2004, Internet secuirty firm Symantec said.
Junk emails continue to be a serious problem with almost two-thirds of messages found to be spam, it added. There are also growing fears about 'spyware', where infected software allows hackers to access computers.
