Lawson's iPhone App is a Big Hit

TV chef Nigella Lawson has reached the top of the iPhone application charts with her application for quick recipes.

The best selling application, called "The Nigella Quick Collection", features 70 step-by-step guides. It also encompasses video and audio technology and has an option for creating recipes from the ingredients a user has available.

Although it has climbed the app charts through its availability on the iPhone, Lawson's Apple store appearance on Tuesday launched its availability on the iPod touch.

Publisher Chatto & Windus created the application which costs £4.99 and also includes a capability which can send dinner party invitations to friends.

Lawson stated: ''I am iPhone-obsessed and app-addicted anyway, so feel particularly excited about my own 'Nigellapp'.

''This really feels like an application that is comfortable to use, either to inspire after a long day, or give general and specific cooking tips. I am very proud of this gorgeous little greed-gadget.''
