LK Bennet Joins Ecommerce Club With Apps

Fashion retailer L K Bennett has launched a mobile commerce application for the iPhone, iTouch and iPad, which allows users to browse and purchase products using Paypal's Mobile Express Checkout.

Developed by Portaltech via its QuickLive mCommerce platform, the L K Bennett Fashion app showcases the company's current collection using category grid browsing. Favourite products can be shared via social network platforms or by email.

Kate Smyth, director of eCommerce for L K Bennett, said, "We could see that a significant number of our customers were already browsing and purchasing via their mobile browsers and in particular via their iPhones. We hope this app will enable L K Bennett to provide additional 24/7 browsing and a shopping channel for customers at a time that is convenient to their lifestyle."

He Added, "most importantly, we developed a quick and secure checkout that allows customers to purchase via their phone and the option to purchase via Paypal's mobile express checkout, means that customers don't even need to get their cards out.

"Rachel Wilkinson, head of brand & retail at Portaltech, said, "We recently conducted some research that told us that customer's key priorities when shopping via mobile are convenience and security."

The mobile app, which also provides store location details using Google Maps, will be available this month.
