MSN hosts online sci-fi series

MSN UK is to host Kirill, an interactive online five-week science fiction series, produced by Big Brother producer Endemol.

The storyline incorporates a number of MSN's interactive tools, including the social networking site Spaces and its instant messenger tool Live Search.

The main character is played by David Schofield, who starred in Gladiator and Pirates of the Caribbean. He plays a blogger who is locked in a futuristic world and is attempting to save the planet.

This is the biggest drama MSN UK has ever commissioned and its executive producer Peter Bale said it represented a 'chunky part' of the company's budget.

It will run two three-minute episodes of the programme each week for five weeks.
