MySpace Pushes Boundaries With Online Auditions

Myspace is to be utilised in a radically new way as the new hit television series Glee launches a casting call through the social media website.

After the recent departure of chief executive Owen Van Natta some were predicting Myspace would flounder in Facebook's wake. However the company are working with partner corporation Fox to usher in new audiences with this latest controversial move.

The logic of the move is clear due to Glees strong internet following, with several of the musical videos from the programme going viral and as a result soaring to the top of the itunes chart.

Applicants have to submit their details, a song and a statement about why they want to be on the programme. The song should be one of the big hits from the programme, such as "Lean on me," or the Journey hit which they single handedly revived, "Don't Stop Believing."

As the Guardian stated earlier today: "Undiscovered talents clearly need to do the same as MySpace: Don't stop believing."
