Wife murderer got ideas on the Net

A computer analyst who found out how to strangle his wife on the Internet was jailed for life for her murder yesterday.

Colin Whelan, 34 began Web searches on topics such as ‘death by strangulation’ two months before he married Mary Gough, 27.

He also insured his wife for £400,000.

Police found traces of the Web searches on Whelan’s PC at his Dublin home.
